First, these are very comfortable golf shoes although they fit small so I strongly suggest ordering one size larger compared to North American sizes.
Here is my unbiased review after one season:
Pros
The shoes are very stable and the anti roll wing on outside of shoe really helps stabilize. Compared to my Foot Joy Premiere Series shoes, the Phorm 1 are more stable and I get about an extra 2 mph swing speed from the combo hard spikes and underside stability. All good!
Cons
The spikes wear down quite quickly walking on any cart path, parking lot or hard surface… I got maybe 10 rounds or so before noticeable wear on several spikes… additionally, on soft greens after rain you can clearly see spike indentations.. not a single hole like old metal spikes but 4 impressions per spike (. 11 spikes per shoe).. that’s a lot of impressions per green when soft
Cleaning the shoes is not easy and due to mix of materials on the shoe, some parts clean up nicely, others ( near air holes) are always dirty looking. So they don’t look that clean despite trying to keep in pristine shape.
The sole plastic yellows after time, doesn’t impact performance but they don’t look great for an expensive golf shoe.
Overall, I’d give Phantom Phorm a 9/10 for performance and comfort, a 6 on spike quality and 6 on looking good after playing multiple rounds.
I think changing the materials and perhaps spikes that aren’t so brittle to wear would go a long way to improving this shoe.
I’d buy another pair once those issues are fixed. For now, they are my early or late season shoes when the conditions are a bit mucky and I’m less concerned with the deficiencies
They look good and feel good when I tried them on but I have not played in them as yet, waiting for the summer. Do you have a spikeless version?
Great golf shoes. I was so excited to get these. They look, fit and feel great!!
Love these shoes. Designed by actual golf aficionado's and it shoes when out on the course. I feel grounded and confident in my movements on the course and helps my confidence immensely
First time in decades returned to spikes. So comfortable, so stabile. I do believe I added a few yards to the driver. Thanks.
